Jared Ice choral composer in Frankfurt Germany

Jared Ice earned his Master of Music Degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. His first professional venture as a composer was with the international company HBK, where he developed an audio brand for their new web series. Over the next two years, Jared collaborated with HBK on numerous projects, honing his skills in corporate music composition.

Following his tenure with HBK, Jared partnered with Nick Crowley to compose the opening theme for the true crime documentary The Smiley Face Murders. The documentary has since garnered over three million views on YouTube. Expanding his repertoire, Jared produced a series of stock music tracks featured in various advertisements and independent films before shifting his focus to choral arranging.

Jared Ice opera composer in Frankfurt Germany

One of his notable achievements in this domain was arranging a collection of sea shanties, which he premiered at the “Sing for Peace” concert in Darmstadt, Germany. Shortly after, Jared debuted Words of Reason, a song cycle commissioned by Staatstheater Darmstadt that set the words of renowned physicists to music. In a continued collaboration with the theater, Jared created a series of “Mini-Operas,” designed to condense the grandeur of traditional opera into bite-sized formats suitable for social media, while exploring unconventional and provocative themes.

In 2022, Jared founded International English Choirs, a network of English-speaking community choirs across Germany. Each year, these choirs premiere two original compositions by Jared, enriching the global choral repertoire. Looking ahead, Jared is preparing to release a series of children’s musicals in 2025, which will be available in multiple languages worldwide.
